My love affair with books began from a dark place. Like many kids, there were some adversities in my house growing up. Through some cosmic stroke of luck, I chose to escape my uncomfortable feelings inside of books. I read whatever type of book I could get my hands on. Encyclopedias (and medical journals) were a favorite. Yes I’m old, lol.
When a fresh batch of adversity in the form of my own budding mental illness bloomed in high school, I again went to the library and lost myself in stacks of books.
The trend continues…… Fortunately, it has a nice side effect of introducing one to fresh views and voices and concepts which, lo and behold, can offer perspective and options not previously considered.
This is the final “piece” for me to submit to my web developer pre-launch of my website. I dragged my feet because of the emotional component it holds for me but also because I was so difficult to narrow my list, lol. My criteria for the books I’m sharing here is:
I have or would buy multiple copies to give away
It significantly improved the quality of my life in one or many areas
My favorite book on building and maintaining the habits you want to have and lose the ones you don’t.
